Mistystar crouched at the side of the river, staring at the water. Her tail tip twitched and her glossy blue fur glowed in the sunshine. She welcomed the sunshine after all those days of cold weather. After several days of snow, the sky was clearing to reveal a bright sun to melt away the snow. Her pads were going numb from cold as she froze, not allowing her shadow to fall across the water. There was a flash of light within the water and her paw shot out. A rainbow of water drops spattered as the fish went flying from the river. Mistystar bent down and quickly grabbed it before it slipped back into the water. In doing so, she snapped it's spine.
Sitting up and licking her muzzle, she tasted fish and blood. Her first catch of the day felt good. Picking the fish up, she trotted farther down stream to find a better fishing spot. The soggy snow letting her paws make prints as she waked. Mistystar stopped and sniffed the air. She thought she smelled a Clanmate...

The pretty tortoiseshell hissed in frustration as the fish slipped away from her paws. Her eyes blinked as some water caught on her eyelids. She lifted her head slowly, feeling the presence of another cat. She relaxed alittle, knowing it was Riverclan, but tensed again as she realized it was her leader, Mistystar. She quickly jumped off the rock she was sitting on and shook her ruffled fur. She emerged from the reeds and found herself a few foxtails away from her leader. She smiled and dipped her head at her leader and tilted it sideways. Greetings Mistystar. She said, smiling.
Snowleaf wanted to make the best impression for her new leader. Hopefully her new clan would like her.

Hello, Snowleaf. Mistystar nodded to the she-cat as she passed by. I'm going a little farther downstream to the shore to try and catch some fish. Would you like to come?

She nodded to her leader and stood just alittle taller. She twisted her tortoishell tail in little circles and brushed a peice of fuzz of her fur.

Mistystar padded farther downstream to a place where the river broke off into a small stream that fed a pool a bit smaller than the Moonpool, but still rather large. Fish often gather here to eat the algae on the rocks.
She sat down and waited for that familiar flash in the water. She sat still as a statue.

Snowleaf followed her leader obidiently and listened to her speak. She nodded and sat a few tail lengths away, looking for fish. A tiny silver one soon showed itself right in front of her. Surprised, and extended a paw and the fish flew out. She quickly grabbed it with her claw and killed it. WOW! I never catch prey! Thank you Starclan!

[OOC- i wonder if anyone else'll join? it's usually not interesting when there are less than 3 people...]
Mistystar glanced over at Snowleaf and saw the fish she had just caught. Well done! she meowed. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw more fish slip into the pool and returned her attention to the pool.

((WILLOW TO THE RESCUE!! ^^ ))
Turtlepaw's chocolate brown pelt gleamed in the sun as he trotted forward through the ferns. He hissed as one slapped him in the face and angrily stomped on it. Stupid ferns! The water is the only safe place for me! He thought with a smirk. He couldn't live anywhere else but Riverclan.
A scent, well, two scents suddenly intrigued him. HIs leader, and that new former Thunderclan cat, Snowleaf. (Or something like that...) He flew out of the ferns and looked for his two older clanmates. He spotted them by a pool alot of foxtails away and quietly crept forward, until he was beside Snowleaf. He nodded to her and watched the fish.

Mistystar scented her Clanmate, Turtlepaw, as he approached. She glanced in Snowleaf's direction to see Turtlepaw nestled beside her. Nodding to Turtlepaw, she turned her attention back to the pond.
[OOC-- to make this thread a bit more interesting, I think we should move this to the marshy part of their territory so they can hunt other things than fish. After all, variety is a good thing. Agreed?]

((sure))
Snowleaf stood up. The fish had just darted away when Turtlepaw left. She cursed in her head but said nothing. She shook her soft tortoiseshell pelt and turned to Mistystar. Should we hunt elsewhere? She asked

Mistystar nodded. There were not many fish in this pool today. How sad. There usually is a large amount. Mistystar got up, stretched, and trotted towards the RiverClan marshes. The sky was turning a shade of grey-white. Sniffing the air, Mistystar confirmed what she had been sure of all along; it was going to snow soon. She shivered in the bitter cold. We'd better get a move on. It's going to snow soon.
